Itinerary Highlights

Day 1: Nairobi to Chogoria Town

  • Morning Departure: Drive from Nairobi to Chogoria Town (approx. 4-5 hours).
  • Lunch En Route: Stop for a meal and gather supplies.
  • Transfer to Chogoria Gate (2,950m): Use a 4×4 vehicle to reach the park gate.
  • Short Hike to Camp: Trek for 2-3 hours to your first camp, enjoying views of the montane forest.
  • Accommodation: Overnight at Chogoria Bandas or in tents.

Day 2: Chogoria Gate to Lake Ellis Camp (3,600m)

  • Trek Duration: 4-5 hours.
  • Route: Ascend through bamboo forests and open moorland, with a stop at Lake Ellis for lunch.
  • Highlights: Stunning views of Lake Ellis and nearby peaks.
  • Accommodation: Overnight camping near Lake Ellis.

Day 3: Lake Ellis to Mintos Hut (4,300m)

Day 5: Old Moses Camp to Sirimon Gate and Return to Nairobi
